A/N: This is my very freaking first! We finally get to see a JUN ACORN HEAD YEAAAY!! This fic is loosely based on a chapter from "Horimiya," a manga I've been following. And I think the ending is weird,
coolohoh agrees with me too! Here is your HAHAHJDLAFADLJFADLJFH
octavialao!
Nino was about to reach the goal when he felt a gloomy presence entered the green room. He chanced a look towards the man who just came through the door with his brows almost bridging.
"Hoy Aibaka" He hissed to Aiba who was skimming through a magazine on the opposite end of the couch. Aiba raised his eyes to look at Nino with a questioning stare. Nino gestured Aiba to look at Jun who was now sitting beside Sho (who was reading his newspapers), in front of the dresser with a dark look on his face, his lips pursed. "I think there's trouble in paradise."
Aiba closed the magazine and shifted closer to Nino after seeing the look on Jun's face. "Ahh, I wonder what happened?" He whispered back. "Did Oh-chan played with his rings again?"
"I'm not really sure but I bet it mu-" Nino paused when Ohno finally entered the green room with his right hand on the back of his head, face slightly contorted in pain. "But looks like Oh-chan got the worst of it." He snickered before getting up and walking to where Ohno chose to sit. He swapped Ohno's hand away and felt for the bump that he knew was surely there. "He sure got you good huh? What did you do this time?" he grinned at Ohno. But before Ohno could answer Nino's question, Jun stood up and quickly left the room. The oh so present frown still etched on his face. Sho followed him out.
"I did nothing Kazu." Ohno sighed. "It's just that... Jun thought I was having an affair."
Nino burst out in laughter after hearing what Ohno said. "You?! HAHAHA! Cheating?! That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!"
"Oh my Riida!" Aiba gasped. "Is Jun not enough for you?! Why would you cheat on our princess!" He continued and was about to cry if not for the murderous glare he got from the accused. Nino's laughter became hysterical with Aiba's reaction. He thinks Aiba has gone nuts saying things like that to Ohno.
"How could you even think that, you idiot!" Ohno fumed. "Of course I did not and will never betray him! It was just a misunderstanding! A MISUNDERSTANDING!"
"It is?" Aiba questioned.
"Of course it is you dork! You know how our Oh-chan is with J. He will never do something to hurt him." Nino responded when his laughter died down. "What happened between you guys anyway?"
Ohno sighed and recounted to the other two what happened earlier before they came in for work.
--
He was sitting inside the company car that will drive them to work that day, waiting for Jun to come down from their apartment when his manager borrowed his phone saying he forgot to bring his. He lent his phone to the man as he watched him send an email but not really reading the content. Just as he saw Jun coming to the car, his manager gave his phone back to him saying thanks and that he was a lifesaver. He just shrugged in response, not really understanding why he was called that.
They were halfway to their destination and as per usual, Jun borrowed his phone and played with it. He once asked Jun why he always play with his phone and not his own and he regretted it right away when he received a slap and a "Baka! It will drain my phone battery." From then on, he never asked and just lent him the phone in fear of getting hit again. Besides, he loved watching Jun as he played games on it. His eyes were always so excited and that quirk on his lips whenever he finishes a challenge was always a sight to behold. The crease on his forehead as he get stuck in a stage not knowing how to get past it was just so cute that sometimes he'd rather watch Jun play all day long.
He was still watching Jun play when he noticed an expression he'd never seen before on the other's face while playing. He saw confusion and hurt swim in his lover's eyes as tears were starting to form. Concerned, he asked "Jun-kun, are you okay?"
"I can't believe it! You're cheating on me!" Jun bellowed.
"Cheating? What are you talking about Jun? I will never cheat on you" Ohno simply responded with a straight face. His heart broke when he saw some tears escaped Jun's eyes.
"Oh cmon! Then what is this!?" Jun shoved the phone back to Ohno and showed him the message that just came in. Ohno drew his eyebrows closer when he started reading it.
From: +123456789098
"Hi honey, glad to hear our date is still on for tonight. I was afraid you were going to stood me up. Thanks for the flowers by the way. See you later. Love you."
Ohno was confused as hell. He didn't send any flowers to anyone and he definitely didn't have any dates set out for tonight. Nose wrinkling in thought, he was about to tell his lover that this might be a prank or a message sent to a wrong number when the car suddenly stopped and the front door was opened signalling that they had reached the station.
Jun couldn't help himself anymore. He willed his tears to stop and swiped the few that fell with the back of his hand, poker face on. "I get it. You don't have to explain anything anymore. It's clear as crystal."
"It's not like that Jun! I swear!" He desperately cried reaching out to grab Jun's arm.
Jun opened the door and was about to step out of the car when Ohno's manager came over and asked "Ohno-san, did you receive any text messages?"
"Messages? Is this for you Manager-san?"Ohno quickly fumbled for his phone passing it to the manager.
"Oh yes it's for me Ohno-san! You see, I broke my phone early this morning and I really had to contact my girlfriend. Thank you for letting me borrow your phone." The manager explained.
"Well then, let's go. We need to get you guys ready for the filming" he added as he gave Ohno his phone back and walked off towards the entrance.
They both watched him walk away. An awkward silence instilled between them.
"So that was why he called me a lifesaver. See Jun-kun? I'm not having an affair" Ohno pouted as he turned to look at his lover.
"You should have said so earlier! Idiot!" Jun snapped and hit Ohno at the back of his head forgetting the fact the he was wearing two of his biggest rings that day.
"Ouch Jun-kun! That hurt" Ohno whined, the pout still etched on his face, hands reaching back to his head. But Jun ignored Ohno and walked off to the entrance of the building leaving Ohno by the car.
--
"That's it?! That's what got our princess' panties in a knot?" Nino questioned Ohno.
Ohno just nodded and sighed once again. "I forgot to say I was sorry too because he left right away. Maybe that's why he's still mad." He really didn't like it when Jun and him were having a fight that's why he always ends up saying sorry even if he didn't do anything wrong. He just wanted things to be okay with Jun again. And if saying sorry would make things go back to the way they usually were then he have no qualms about it.
"Are you kidding me Oh-chan?!" Nino shouted. "Don't you dare apologize!"
"But I wan-" Ohno started but was cut off by Nino's hand smacking at his lips holding it shut.
"Don't give me that crap. You didn't do anything wrong you know! There is nothing that you should be sorry about." Nino snarked.
"Nino-chan is right Riida!" Aiba spoke, adding a hand over Nino's to keep Ohno's mouth shut. "You're spoiling the princess too much!"
"Look Oh-chan, it's not your fault, it's J's. Besides, if you apologize first, you'll just be avoiding the problem. Nothing will be fixed and it will just continue on a vicious cycle until your sorry won't be able to do anything anymore," Nino released Ohno and instead leaned his head on the older man's shoulder. "You should teach Jun how to apologize."
With a puzzled expression, Ohno asked "What should I do then?"
"Just pull a Maou on J and act nonchalantly. Make him realize that it was his fault and he's the one who should be sorry."
"But I might end up hospitalized if I do that Kazunari..." Ohno grimaced imagining all of the things that could happen to him if he followed Nino's suggestion. "Talk about Imaging Crazy in another way..."
"Don't worry Riida! I'll make sure to visit you and bring you some special curry rice!!" Aiba chirped and leaned his head on Ohno's other shoulder, much like what Nino did. "By the way, what do you mean by Ameyjing Crazy?"
"AIBAKA! Shut it or I'll pull a J on you!" Nino face palmed.
----
"You thought Satoshi was cheating?!" Sho laughed, tears starting to form in his eyes as he continued laughing at what he just heard from Jun.
"It's not my fault someone sent him that kind of message!" Jun crossed his arm across his chest and leaned back on the railing. They were on the rooftop having a smoke.
"So what did you do? Give him a bump?
"Of course I did. How else would I react then? And it was a reflex Sho-kun, a reflex!" Jun's face turned into an awkward frown. He is starting to feel guilty for hitting Satoshi out of reflex.
"You should apologize properly Jun. It's your fault after all." Sho took Jun's cigarette and took a puff from it.
"I know that already!" Jun snapped at him.
"See you're getting mad again. You should learn to control your temper more and your mouth while you’re at it."
"I'm not angry! Just a bit irritated. And I know how to control my mouth quite well Sho-kun, try asking Satoshi about it." Jun gave Sho a side glance with his eyebrows raised high on his forehead, a smirk plastered on his face.
"Damn it Jun that's not what I was talking about! I don't need to know what your mouth can do behind closed doors!" Sho's cheeks reddened hearing what Jun said. "Anyway, if you want to stop fighting then you should apologize right away. Okay? You need to be the first to apologize else it will be awkward when he does it first. And besides, it will get harder to say it as you let time pass by."
Jun sighed for the umpteenth time that morning. "Okay.. Let's just go back now. It's almost time for filming to start and my hair is still a mess."
"As you say princess" Sho snickered.
"Stop calling me that!" Jun glared. "You chipmunk!"
Sho just laughed at him and turned to head inside the building once again with Jun following him.
----
Things were awkward between Jun and Ohno throughout the whole day. The filming went on with no words exchanged between them except for a "Ganbare Matsujun" from Ohno and an "Ok" from Jun, which was all said because Itou-san asked Ohno to cheer Jun on as he prepared to go up the 6-meter wall with Sho-kun as the first climber.
The game went on with Arashi losing because of the poor performance done by two of the members. Ohno didn't hit any cans on Kicking Sniper and Jun had a gutter during Bank Bowling. Sho's failure at cliff climb was a given and nothing really new so it's out of the equation and they did clear the climb after all, even if Sho just left Jun with 20 seconds to finish.
They were on their way back to the green room with the kaze trio heading the way, when Jun placed a hand on Nino's shoulders and asked "Hey brat, let's have a drink after this."
"Nope" Nino just gave him a smirk and kept on walking.
"Oh cmon, my treat." Jun insisted.
"Still no princess, I already have someone else to treat me tonight! Right Aiba-shii?" Nino nudged Aiba who was oblivious to the exchange happening between the two youngest.
"Uhh, yeah?" Aiba answered unsurely and added "I guess..."
Jun stopped walking and let out another sigh. He turned around to see if Sho and Ohno were right behind them and regretted it right away when he made eye contact with Ohno. He was about to ask him if they could go out for dinner when Ohno purposely turned away from Jun and initiated a talk with Sho instead. They walked past Jun who was standing still in the hallway with his eyes cast down. "This kinda hurts.." Jun mumbled to himself as he started walking again after a few moments.
‘Sorry Jun-kun!’ Ohno thought to himself as he recalled what Nino told him earlier. He knew Jun was about to ask him something but he chose to follow Nino's advice and engaged Sho in a conversation leaving Jun behind as they continued walking while Jun just stood there at the hallway looking at the floor. He took a peek behind and saw Jun started walking again with his head still low.
'I must not apologize, I must not apologize! I need to act nonchalantly!' was what's running inside Ohno's head the whole day. He was forcing himself to ignore Jun but he really was having a hard time. He felt a stab in his heart everytime he turns around and see Jun with his head low and eyes cast down. He reached the green room and said goodbye to the other three as they bid their goodbyes to him. He was fixing his things when Jun entered the room who set out to gather his stuff. ‘Ahh I really must not apologize!' he told himself again as he saw how quiet Jun was with him.
He moved purposely slow to give Jun time to catch up with him. He was about to exit the room when once again, he chanced a peek at Jun and saw him looking at him.
"Sa-" Jun started reaching out with his hand but Ohno just ignored him, walking out of the room deliberately. Jun closed his eyes, clenched his fist and just followed Ohno out of the green room to the parking area where the company car was waiting to send them both home.
'I never realized it before, but Ohno can be really cold if he wants to be. He has never done this to me before.' Jun realized as he watched Ohno walk ahead of him. 'I wish he'd say something.'
Jun was lost in his thoughts that he didn't see the wire that was snaked across the floor until it was too late, he tripped and landed on his hands and knees. He turned to look at Ohno to see if he'd stop but was disappointed when the older man continued walking. He stayed on the floor with his eyes closed, gathering his courage to stand up and walk again when he felt a hand grab one of his. He looked up and saw his lover's sleepy face looking down gently at him, helping him stand up.
"Jun-kun, where's my sorry?" Ohno asked him with a gentle voice.
He was caught off-guard by the words that left his lover's lips. 'Satoshi must have known how hard it was for me to apologize' Jun thought to himself. He was startled by how gentle the older man asked for his apology that he almost forgot to breathe.
"I'm sorry" Jun voiced out after a few moments with eyes cast on the floor. He felt a squeeze on his hands after saying the words and looked at Ohno's face that was adorned with a beautiful smile.
"Don't worry, I'm not mad." Ohno replied and squeezed Jun's hand again.
"Thank you Satoshi" He heard his lover whisper on his ear.
"How about we get ourselves some Soba before heading home Jun-kun?"
"I'd like that!"
They continued walking down to the parking area with their fingers intertwined, their faces spread out with a smile.
