Summary: They have broken up. But can Jun really forget Sho?

A/N: Because, I want to write a sequel to [livejournal.com profile] inaudible_d's THE BREAK UP fic. Hehehehe!I did my best Di! Thank you for letting me write this!

Days turned to weeks. Weeks turned to months. And months turned to years.

But Jun was still there. Still in their apartment. The one they bought when they decided to be together. Still cooked dinner for two. Still kept an extra pair of slippers. Still kept that space in the vanity, in the bathroom, and in the closet. Still slept on his own side of the bed. Still waiting for someone to say ‘itterashai’ and ‘okaeri.’ Still waiting for someone to say ‘ohayo’ and ‘oyasumi.’ Still waiting for someone to say ‘Aishteru.’ Jun was still waiting. Still waiting for Sho.

"Snap out of it J! Stop imprisoning yourself! It's been 3 years. He's not coming back." Nino chastised Jun who refused to move from his sofa.

He lost a lot of weight since that night. Jun's fair skin was now dry; bags under his eyes. He cannot sleep. Afraid that when Sho comes back in the evening, he'll be asleep and won’t be able to open the doors for the older man.

"Nino, you don't understand, just-just go away. " Jun replied in a small voice.

"You- You asked to end it. Because you knew, you knew it was the right thing to do. So stop sulking and drowning in your misery! I’m tired of trying to pull you out of your cave J! I’m freaking tired! But you're my friend! Ugghh!" Nino messed his hair in annoyance. He turned to the taller only to see him sobbing.

"But I can't stop, Kazu. He was my first, and probably my only. Loving him is easy, but forgetting him is harder, longer. I didn’t have the chance to say goodbye." Jun sobbed harder and curled his body like a fetus on the sofa. Nino moved closer to him and held him in his arms.

"Let it go Jun, let him go now." And Nino caressed his hair in a calming rhythm that it made Jun relax and fall asleep. But not before his lips slipped the words.

"Maybe I will. I'll let him go now."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was early spring and the cherry blossom were already in bloom. Jun left the apartment 7 months ago. Nino forced him to sell the property. Said it will help him move on. Jun protested at first. But Nino was sly, he found his seal and copied his signature rather skillfully. After 3 days the movers came and Jun was forced to move out.

Jun wandered along his new neighborhood's park. He sat on the bench that was facing a small cafe. He basked in the sun and kept on glancing at the cafe. As if there was an invisible force that compels him to enter the cafe. So Jun did. And there he sat, on a table at the corner. When he was about to order, a handsome man approached him and saw a familiar face. He gaped at the waiter and touched his arms. The very face that launched a thousand emotions into Jun's brain.

"S-sho.." Jun stuttered.

"Oh. Jun. How are you?" Sho replied, there was a crinkle in Sho's eyes, the one that shows when his too amused about something that Jun does.

"Wh-" Jun stammered and clearly wanted to point out that the man was dressed down to normal jeans and a plain looking shirt that says "Aloha". He wore a green cap too, with a huge pin badge in the center that says "SMILE! It’s a COFFEE-tastic day!" An ugly, dirty green apron that made his whole look seemed normal if not handsome.

"May I take your order first?" Sho asked politely, a little smile adorned his lips. Though it was a smile, best put for a costumer. Jun wondered how many times Sho practiced it.

"I-" Jun couldn't answer back. Still confused and shocked.

"Ah! Expresso with a hint of mint then!" Sho actually smiled this time. The smile, only reserved for Jun. Jun can't help but smile too.

But Jun, remembered. Remembered that night vividly. The night he knew. The same night he asked Sho. The same night Sho left. The night he felt pain. The night he started waiting. And Jun was scared. Scared to hell and if he stays, he'll never go back. He already moved on right?

And the rumors about Sho having a child made his resolve strengthen. He is okay. He moved on. Sho, already has a family. And Jun wasn't a part of it. So he ran.

Ran as fast as he could. He may have heard a voice calling his name. He might have imagined the voice sounding very broken, desperate, and in pain. He might have imagined the voice following him. Till he hailed a cab. Might have imagined that he saw the man running towards the cab in pitiful efforts to catch up with him. He might have imagined it all, even the fateful encounter with Sho. Maybe.

Jun went back to his new home. It was a lovely property. It was not grand, not too big, and not too shabby. It was simple. A house with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a cozy living room, spacious kitchen and a lovely small garden with a Sakura tree standing tall and proud. When he was looking for a new place, it never crossed his mind to buy a house. But Aiba insisted that he should check out the property. Ohno, who was Aiba's boyfriend was a realtor. And Aiba, as an ever supportive and kind boyfriend was helping Ohno make a deal.

Nino was also nagging him, saying, "Apartments are for people who doesn't want to settle down J. And I know you’re the marrying type."

But he retorted, "I'm not into girls Nino. And you're living in an apartment too!"
Nino just huffed.

"It’s more convenient for me! My place is small! Cleaning is not a hassle. And I actually have a property in Okinawa J, and after I'm rich, enough to hire 100 maids, I'll be retiring there!" And Jun wondered if it was true.

After almost a month of constant early morning phone calls and text brigade, the annoying tailing Aiba did after his work shift, Jun finally agreed. Only! And only if Aiba stopped harassing him, and stopped stealing his undergarments and making him hostage.

Once he saw the house, he immediately fell in love with it. It was a bit cheaper than he expected. Ohno said the owner just wanted to sell the property, and didn't mind if the price he gave was cheap. Finally, he felt the need to start over, and settle down. The idea of permanency, was so comforting.

There was a knock on his door, as he dumped himself on the carpet. He didn't want to stand up. His body was glued to the floor. But the knocking went incessant. He ignored it and covered his ears, he just wanted to drown there and then. The rhythmic pounding of the door matched his heartbeat. He thought about Sho's face in the cafe a while ago. Wondering if it was just his imagination, or if it was real. He thought it was the former. Why would a multi-millionaire, be working on a cafe as a waiter? It was absurd. The knocking didn't stop. It went on for a couple more of minutes. And when the knocking died down. He was already falling into unconsciousness.

Just when Jun was about to dream, the doorknob clicked and turned. The door swung opened and he didn't bother siting up. It was probably Nino. He did make a copy of Jun's keys secretly, if not slyly. Jun pretended to be sleeping and fully closed his eyes. But he opened them the minute he heard a heavier footstep as it made its way to the genkan and to Jun's living room, and finally closing the distance to him.

There was a familiarity with those footsteps. Ones that he used to hear before. Then the aching pain came back. He blinked back the tears in his eyes. Nino will kill him if he sees him crying, especially when Jun thought Nino's steps sounded like Sho's.

"Jun.." His breath hitched and this time, he sat up rather quickly than he intended that he almost hit his head on the coffee table. He turned to the owner of the voice who was now kneeling in front of him. Still wearing that ugly apron and his green hat. He couldn't hold it back and tears trickled down his face.

"W-why are you here... Sho? How?"

"If Nino didn't give me a spare key, I would have injured myself. Knocking at your door for an hour isn't a funny business." There was an annoyed tone there, but also concern. And Jun thought, it was all Nino's plan, he's sure.

"Glad you liked the house. I was sure you would. And it sure took Aiba a month to persuade you to take a look at this house.” Now his voice seemed delighted and an ounce of pride was there. Jun raised his brow in confusion and Sho chuckled at that.

"I... actually owned this house before. Then I sold it to you. Sold, because I know you don't like me giving you surprises." He beamed.

Now that explained the cheap pricing of the house. Jun snickered, tears still making their way down his face.

"It's like you GAVE the house to me. It was ridiculously cheap. Felt like I bought a new phone." Sho gave a hearty laugh.

"Well, at least there was a transaction that happened right? So technically, it wasn't giving." Jun had to smile at that. Then, silenced followed.

"You must be wondering why I'm there right?" Sho broke the silence. He scooted closer to, sitting right next to him, their shoulders touching. Jun just nodded. He was curious himself.

"Well..." Sho started, looked at his watch and for a couple of seconds he produced a folded envelope from his back pocket and handed it to Jun. It was kind of wrinkled down, clearly, Sho had been putting it on his back pocket. He gazed at Sho's shining eyes and gestured if he could open it. Sho nodded.

Jun did, and slowly he opened the envelope. He skimmed through the content and his eyes widened. His hand went to cover his mouth. Fresh new tears were pooling on the corners of Jun's eyes. His hands were shaking. He turned to Sho and wrapped his arms around his neck, face buried on the crook.

Sho rocked Jun's body back and forth. His hand gently doing a circular motion on Jun's back, comforting him. Jun felt Sho kiss his temple. And he sobbed harder at the gesture. Sho pulled Jun out of their embrace and looked at him, like he was just seeing Jun for the first time.

"Shhh... Please stop crying." Sho said softly as the older man wiped the younger's tears.

"But- Is that- why you're there?" Jun couldn't make any coherent sentences, his sobs were overwhelming his speech. But Sho just smiled.

"What I learned from that night is to never ask something you cannot accept. And never agree if you cannot keep it. Everything I did, was for you. And I'd still make that decision, Jun. Because, it always has been you Jun. It's always you and no one else."

"Sho...” Jun sobbed, a faint smile on his face. Sho did the same as he cupped Jun's cheeks.

"Happy birthday Jun."

And Sho leaned in and Jun met him half-way.

It's just beautiful octavia!!! It's soooo full of love and yes there's reconciliation..*wipes tears
I love how Sho sacrificed for Jun and it just made me so touched!
I read the first one and I was crying like hell...
Good thing you wrote this to mend everybody's broken heart LOL...

by the way....
"Days turned to weeks. Weeks turned to months. And months turned to years."
When I read this I was like "intertextuality? kyaaaaaaaaaa~~~"
I remember I wrote a short story with these lines! if not exact maybe 98% exact!
It was 4 years ago when I was at university and my professor commend me for that story LOL I was so happy...nakabasa ko ani and na-shock ko and chaksss nalipay jud ko!
During this semester, our class are focusing on intertextuality and it's just so amazing that those writers who were born in different periods happened to have like a meeting of minds and they wrote stories and novels of similar concepts...
It makes me remember you sharing your story about MPD and now with these lines..hahhaha sorry I was just so amazed! although my concept was different from this one, it could have been really Intertextuality if we had similar concepts...hehehheh

Thanks octavia..so sweet... :D
